The Invisible Doctrine, George Monbiot & Peter Hutchinson (2024)

I think I read this in one day? It was short, I had time and space and I was fascinated by the simple and logical story this book presented. The Invisible doctrine sought to do one thing, reveal the concept of Neoliberalism from behind the increasingly dark cover it lurks behind. Much like Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter, the book suggests the increasingly unspoken concept thrives in the shadows, after having defined it as such a system that exploits the vulnerable by the powerful, simultaneously preaching the need for an open playfield but also un-restraining those with collected advantages. In some ways this details a system of divide and conquer, and how different power structures have been put in place to control public narratives and seed distracting discourse.
